Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position in Alamogordo, NM, requiring at least 2 years of recent ED experience in a Level 1, 2, or 3 trauma center.

Details

  • Emergency Care Center (ECC) in a hospital setting
  • Diverse patient population including clinic-type patients, stroke, STEMI, Level I traumas, post-surgical complications, pregnancy complications, pediatrics, and behavioral health
  • Night shift position with variable in-times ranging from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with shifts ending at 7:00 AM
  • 13-week contract

Requirements

  • Active RN license in NM or through a compact state
  • Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an Emergency Department setting
  • Most recent experience must be in an ED at a Level 1, 2, or 3 trauma center within the past year
  • BSN preferred

Additional Information

  • Provides routine and complex nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
  • Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
  • Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
  • Provides patient and family education, identifying needs and available resources
  • All newly hired RNs must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days and complete both organizational and ED-specific competency validations with a designated preceptor
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not accepted on this position
  • Two professional references are required for consideration
