This Cali-Mex sit-down, fast-casual concept brings a fresh twist to modern Mexican street food. Guests enjoy tacos, burritos, bowls, and margaritas in both indoor and outdoor settings. With high levels of service and a not-your-basic approach to tacos and burritos, Mercado West is quickly becoming a go-to destination for casual dining, takeout, and cocktails.
Job Summary
We are seeking energetic, versatile, and hospitality-driven Restaurant Servers to help establish the guest experience at our newest location! At Mercado West, servers do it all from order taking and cocktail service to hosting, food running, and expediting.
Every shift is different, every role is shared, and every guest experience is a team effort supported by a pooled tip system. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and strengthen the culture of a brand-new restaurant and deliver unforgettable guest experiences in a lively indoor-outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Order Taking
- Welcome and engage guests with warm, attentive hospitality.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, answer questions, and make menu recommendations.
- Deliver food and drinks promptly, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve concerns quickly and professionally.
- Process guest payments accurately through the Toast POS system.
Shifts
- Host: Greet and seat guests, manage the waitlist, and set the tone for hospitality.
- Bartender: Prepare and serve margaritas, cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Expo: Ensure food quality, garnish plates, and coordinate timely delivery.
- Food Runner: Deliver food quickly and assist with table resets.
- Table Service: Provide attentive, full-service hospitality from start to finish.
Teamwork & Operations
- Jump in wherever needed to support the flow of service.
- Assist with to-go orders and large-party coordination.
- Maintain clean, stocked, and organized workstations.
- Complete sidework such as polishing glassware, rolling silverware, and restocking.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including responsible alcohol service.
Skills & Qualifications
- Prior restaurant, bar, or hospitality experience.
- Strong multitasking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Thrives in a shared-tip, team-service environment.
- Must be 18+ with valid alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain).
- Able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
