Provide critical respiratory care as an integral member of a multidisciplinary patient care team at a leading healthcare facility in Charlestown, MA. This contract role involves assessing, initiating, modifying, and discontinuing therapeutic respiratory procedures for critically ill patients. Use clinical expertise to analyze patient data and collaborate with medical staff to optimize respiratory treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and assist with respiratory tests and procedures based on physician orders to deliver quality care.
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and safely transport mechanically ventilated patients during unit transfers.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans, providing recommendations for therapy interventions to attending physicians.
• Administer comprehensive respiratory therapy treatments while adhering to facility policies and standards.
• Conduct regular bedside rounds, modifying treatments according to patient progress and clinical evaluation.
• Participate in education and mentorship of students, physicians, and healthcare staff, including supervising respiratory therapy trainees.

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and state Respiratory Therapist license preferred.
• Certifications preferred: Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• 0-1 year of experience in respiratory care preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills with effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Capacity to handle physically demanding tasks such as walking distances and moving medical equipment up to 100 pounds; ability to stand for extended periods.
