Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years MS RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in neurological and post-operative care. This position supports a specialized 16-bed neuro unit providing care to patients recovering from stroke, brain, neck, and spine surgeries as well as trauma cases such as traumatic brain injuries (TBI).

Work Schedule & Location:

  • Location: Menasha, WI (within 50 miles of the corporate center)
  • Shift: 12-hour day/night variable (0530-1800 / 1730-0600); straight night shift candidates will be considered
  • Weekend: Every other weekend
  • Holidays: Rotation based on unit needs
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week, with shift make-ups required for absences within two weeks
  • Float Required: Within skillset to all facilities within 60 miles

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to neuro/post-op patients
  • Manage patient assessments, interventions, and documentation using EPIC (preferred)
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams for acute stroke and complex neurological cases
  • Maintain patient safety with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio focused on high-quality outcomes

Required Qualifications:

  • Current WI RN or compact license
  • AHA BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications
  • Minimum 3 years RN experience, including at least one travel contract
  • ICU/Intermediate care (IMC) experience highly preferred
  • Strong neurological and post-operative knowledge in stroke and spinal cases
  • Proven adaptability, resilience, and excellent interpersonal skills

Unit & Patient Population:
The neuro unit focuses on post-stroke care and patients recovering from brain, cervical, and spinal surgeries with occasional medical patients. Team collaboration and patient-centered care are priorities in providing optimal outcomes for this specialized population.
