Job DescriptionMBS is hiring a CAD Designer in Blue Ash, OH. This position is full-time, Direct hire opportunity.FULL JOB DESCRIPTIONPRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares and revises electronic sketches, plans, and drawings that show layout, design, and detail of cathodes and dams for ECM tooling.
- Produces 3D solid (or surfaces) of parts and cathodes.
- Produces CNC programs with hardcopy instructions to produce cathodes or other tooling.
- Produces CNC programs and Software Quality Assurance (SQA) paperwork for parts.
- Produces inspection models and vector data for the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Consults with other personnel to assist with analyzing and plotting data from the CMM.
- Prepares part information for estimating purposes.
- Prepares Bills of Material (B.O.M.) for all components designed and released to the shop.
- Assists with the identification and coordination of outside vendors who produce hardware released for build, obtain quotes as required, and answer technical questions.
- Releases final engineering drawings and specifications to the shop and purchasing dept.
- Updates, files, copies, and issues drawings and B.O.M. as required.
- Supports the shop by implementing drawing revisions and researching necessary information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
- Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline or equivalent job-related experience.
- Minimum of two years’ experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Experience with computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software is helpful.
- Normal working environment – standing, sitting, walking – typically inside a building.
- Minimal or no exposure to excessive noise, dirt, chemicals, extreme temperatures, or hazardous conditions.
- Continuous use of computers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.
- Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.
- Ability to utilize hand/eye coordination.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Communication skills.
