Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract opportunity is available for an Occupational Therapist to provide leave coverage in a K-12 school setting from late November 2025 through early March 2026. This position involves delivering specialized occupational therapy services to a diverse, school-based student population within multiple buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to approximately 43 students, addressing developmental and functional needs.
- Consult with teachers, parents, and school staff on strategies to support 13 additional students.
- Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of student progress and interventions.
- Adapt interventions to meet the unique environments of various school settings.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Active Michigan Occupational Therapist license is required.
- Prior experience in school-based occupational therapy is strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 56 students with both direct and consultative roles.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to interact effectively with educational staff and families.
- Flexibility to work on-site (preferred) or virtually as agreed.
