Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our outpatient clinic that provides customized treatment plans with a focus on a combination of therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education. In this role, you will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality rehabilitative care. You will play a vital role in helping patients regain mobility, manage pain, and achieve their functional goals following injury, surgery and preventative wellness programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Patient Treatment: Implement individualized plans of care through therapeutic exercises, gait training, and manual therapy.
- Progress Monitoring: Observe patients during therapy sessions, recording progress and reporting outcomes to the supervising PT.
- Therapeutic Modalities: Administer treatments such as laser, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy as prescribed.
- Patient Education: Instruct patients and families on the safe use of assistive devices (walkers, canes) and home exercise programs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely medical records in compliance with state and federal regulations and facility standards.
- Safety & Maintenance: Ensure a clean, safe treatment environment by sanitizing equipment and following infection-control protocols.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Licensure: Active and unencumbered state license to practice as a PTA.
Certification: Current CPR/BLS certification required.
Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, physical stamina (ability to lift/move patients), and attention to detail.
