Mechanical Designer (HVAC/MEP) – 2–6 Years Experience

Position Overview
The Mechanical Designer will support the design and development of HVAC and mechanical systems for a variety of building types. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and clients to deliver high-quality, code-compliant designs from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities
- Design HVAC systems including air distribution, hydronic systems, and equipment selection
- Develop construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD
- Perform load calculations (heating/cooling) and assist with system sizing
- Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and architectural teams
- Support project teams through all phases: schematic design, design development, and construction documents
- Assist with site visits, field investigations, and construction administration tasks
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements
Qualifications
- 2–6 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC design within a consulting environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) preferred
- Experience with Revit (required) and AutoCAD
- Familiarity with load calculation software (Trane Trace, HAP, or similar)
- Understanding of building codes and HVAC system design principles
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- EIT certification (or working toward it)
- Experience with healthcare, commercial, or mission-critical projects
- Exposure to energy modeling or sustainability initiatives
