Job DescriptionBuilding & Safety Coordinator
Pay Rate $38- $43
Schedule 8 am 5pm- open to overtime, when needed.
This position serves as the primary liaison with building management and approved vendors to ensure timely resolution of building and operational needs.This role performs hands-on tasks including equipment logistics, basic hardware installation, office support requests, recycling and waste coordination, and routine safety checks. Additionally, the position is responsible for accurate accountability and secure tracking of all building assets, tools, and related equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Building Operations & Vendor Coordination
- Serve as primary point of contact with building management and vendors for repairs, building access, and building services.
- Conduct routine walkthroughs to identify hazards or maintenance needs and promptly correct or escalate concerns.
- Assist with room setups, minor furniture adjustments, and general office support tasks.
- Support access control processes including badge requests and visitor/vendor coordination aligned with security procedures.
Equipment Logistics & Hands-On Support
- Move, transport, and set up equipment and lightweight office furnishings.
- Perform minor hardware and tool-based tasks such as mounting items, securing fixtures, and replacing small components.
- Receive and document deliveries, ensuring appropriate storage and distribution of building-related equipment and supplies.
Asset Management & Inventory Accountability
- Maintain accurate digital inventory records of building assets including equipment, hardware, tools, keys, and safety devices.
- Track asset condition, assignments, service needs, and returns.
- Conduct routine physical inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies with documentation.
- Monitor usage of materials and submit reorder requests to Operations Manager for approval.
- Apply labeling and controlled storage practices to support asset security, accountability, and audit readiness.
Environmental Safety & Waste Coordination
- Support recycling efforts and proper disposal of e-waste and special waste items.
- Help maintain organization of shared office areas to ensure a safe and accessible work environment.
Emergency Preparedness & Safety Support
- Assist with emergency supplies, safety signage, and evacuation route documentation.
- Participate in building evacuation drills and support safety communication and follow-up actions.
- Maintain awareness of basic building systems and emergency protocols (training provided).
- Immediately report safety or security concerns to leadership and/or building management.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–2 years of experience in building support, logistics, maintenance assistance, or office operations preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 40 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to use digital systems for ticketing, reporting, and inventory tracking.
- Strong customer-service and communication skills.
- Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and safety awareness.
Work Environment & Physical Conditions
- Primarily onsite role requiring frequent movement throughout office space, storage areas, and building grounds.
- May occasionally assist with urgent needs outside standard business hours.
