  • Float pool covers MS/Tele units spanning specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs
  • Patient population consists of adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, ortho, oncology, renal, urology and general surgery post-ops, gynecology, psych/detox, ENT, and general medicine
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5–6 based on acuity

  • Heparin drip titration is required
  • RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP is present on units
  • Nurse aides are available on units
  • Designated charge nurse on each unit; charge nurse typically does not carry a patient assignment, though night shift charge may take a small assignment when necessary
  • EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
  • Alaris pump experience preferred
  • 12-hour day shifts, 7am–7pm
  • 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Schedules are set by leadership 4–6 weeks in advance; travelers are expected to be flexible and help fill scheduling gaps
  • Float assignments may follow one of two formats: scheduled at a single facility for the week, or Just-In-Time (JIT) assignment notified 1–2 hours before shift start
  • 13-week contract

  • Driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • All time-off requests must be submitted prior to starting the assignment
  • Holiday rotation coverage may be required
  • On-call or standby is rare and typically only for low census situations
  • Prior neuro experience is preferred
