HOURS 1:00pm to 9:30pm
POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the QC Regional Manager, the Lead Lab Technician is responsible to perform all laboratory requirements in accordance with established procedures as well as maintaining all associated equipment in a clean serviceable state. The timeliness and accuracy of the data produced by this role is critical to ensuring the quality for all products shipped.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES |
· Performs all lab analyses in accordance with associated SOP’s and within the required time frame.
· Enters appropriate data into preset excel tables and spreadsheets in a timely manner to generate applicable lab reports. Additional forms, records and related paperwork may be required.
· Ensures that finished product meets all established quality parameters.
· Communicates lab results to the Production Manager on a frequent basis ensuring that appropriate actions occur in a timely manner for proper operations.
· Assist Plant Manager and Production Manager in quality issue investigations.
Trains all new hires
Makes quarantine decisions in QC Managers absence
· Keep the Lab area clean and clear of trash and Garnet.
· Report problems immediately to the appropriate Manager or Supervisor.
· Have a clear understanding of the all sample testing requirements.
· Ensure the visual storm water inspection is completed and logged in daily.
· Report any equipment damage or safety concerns to the QC Regional Manager immediately.
· Able to multi-task is a critical aspect of this job.
· Interacts with other employees in a polite, courteous and productive manner.
· Responsible for adhering to established “Work Rules.”
· Responsible for observing all Good Manufacturing Practices and safety practices.
· Required to properly wear all personal protection equipment at all times
· Other duties as deemed appropriate by the QC Regional Manager for the position.

SKILLS AND SELECTION CRITERIA | RELEVANT QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
· To perform this job successfully, an individual should be Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel
· Proficient in performing basic math calculations
· Experience managing multiple tasks at one time.
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Science major
· Sound communications skills, respectful of teammates.
· Punctual, meticulous and reliable
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS |
· Environment: Processing plant environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, electrical energy, and all types of weather and temperature conditions; work in or with water and/or wastewater in confined spaces; work and/or walk on various types of surfaces, including slippery or uneven surfaces.
· Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting up to 55lbs; standing and walking for prolonged periods of time; climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and operating motorized equipment.
· Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents and to operate equipment.
· Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
