- The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe, effective, quality nursing care according to the Department of Nursing's philosophy and goals.
- Utilizes Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model.
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for all assigned patients.
- Makes determinations regarding patient progress toward goals.
- Utilizes therapeutic professional relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote health.
- Provides care based on patients' physiologic, developmental, and psychosocial needs.
- Supports the mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence of the organization.
- Demonstrates ability to apply scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences in nursing process.
- Provides care consistent with interdisciplinary plan and Relationship Based Care principles.
- Assesses patient physical and psychosocial condition continuously and formulates nursing diagnoses.
- Collaborates with clients to formulate care plans ensuring safety, comfort, hygiene, protection, disease prevention, and restorative measures.
- Performs essential nursing skills, explains treatments, and educates patients and families.
- Evaluates care plan effectiveness and modifies as needed.
- Demonstrates current knowledge and safe use of equipment, instrumentation, and medications.
- Delegates tasks appropriately and supervises nursing care by care team members.
- Acts as patient advocate to improve healthcare and support informed decisions.
- Provides culturally competent, age-appropriate, ethical care within legal standards.
- Coordinates patient care activities with nurses, physicians, allied health professionals, and ancillary team members.
- Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years acute care experience required.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
- Associate Degree or BSN accepted.
- Required: California RN License.
- Required: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Required: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Schedule Information
- 12-hour shifts from 1900 to 0730.
- 36 hours per week.
- Department operates on AWS with overtime after 40 hours per week and double time after 12 hours per day.
- Class dates available on 7/24 or 8/7.
- Unit Specific Information
- Unit: Labor and Delivery (L&D).
- Role: L&D Registered Nurse Travel position.
- Additional Details
- Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills required.
- Physical duties include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, twisting, reaching, and fine motor skills.
- Completion of annual organizational requirements for employment.
- Effective communication skills to facilitate safe patient handoffs.
- Documentation of nursing care per hospital policies.
- Utilizes manual and automated information systems to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Accountable to meet or exceed unit and organizational patient satisfaction goals.
- Contributes to positive patient care experience through individual interactions with patients and families.
- Assists in resolution of complaints aiming for immediate resolution.
- Investigates physician, employee, and patient complaints and provides information to CNIV or Clinical Manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
