Human Resources Intern – Onboarding Specialist

Internship Summary
This internship offers hands-on exposure to the full-cycle recruitment and onboarding process. You’ll collaborate with our experienced HR and recruiting team to source candidates, manage hiring logistics, and ensure compliance with company and legal standards. If you're detail-oriented, people-focused, and excited about launching a career in HR or recruiting, this role is an excellent starting point.
Key Responsibilities
Candidate Sourcing & Screening
- Post and monitor job openings across recruiting platforms, including social media, ensuring descriptions are current.
- Identify, contact, and pre-screen qualified candidates.
Recruitment & Candidate Engagement
- Schedule and prepare candidates for interviews.
- Act as a point of contact for applicants throughout the hiring process.
- Administer drug screenings and initiate background checks using vendor systems.
- Assist candidates with application completion and troubleshooting.
- Ensure onboarding packets are complete, accurate, and compliant.
HR Administration
- Maintain up-to-date candidate and placement records in our applicant tracking system (ATS).
- Ensure all hiring activities are aligned with company procedures and compliance requirements.
Team Collaboration
- Participate in weekly team meetings focused on recruiting strategies and staffing best practices.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing your first degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field.
- Eligible for the TXWORKS program:
- Are a resident of Texas.
- Submit the Student Eligibility Form.
- Provide your TXWORKS eligibility letter and transcripts when selected for an interview.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Prior experience in customer service is a plus.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and reliable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications.
