Location:
Situated in Los Fresnos, TX, this role is based at a facility renowned for its comprehensive level III-IV NICU care. The hospital features a 10-bed NICU and an 8-bed stepdown unit, staffed by professionals committed to delivering expert neonatal care. Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Level III or IV NICU settings.
- Certifications required: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and STABLE certification.
- Familiarity with high-frequency nasal cannula (HFNC), mechanical ventilators (Vents, SiPAP, HFOV), central and peripheral IV lines, and feeding/IV pumps.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients with complex needs at a 1:3 or 1:1 patient ratio.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care, including participation in procedures such as intubations and chest tube management performed by providers.
- Adhere to unit protocols, maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records (CPN/Meditech), and participate in weekend coverage with a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per month (Friday to Sunday shifts).
Schedule:
- Day shifts with a structured team including a charge nurse and up to four RNs.
- Night shifts also supported by designated charge nurses.
