Description
American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist with CCC-SLP certification, dysphagia expertise, and MBSS experience for a 13-week inpatient rehabilitation assignment in Augusta, GA.
Details
- Inpatient Rehabilitation unit located on the 6th floor of an acute care hospital
- 28-bed unit staffed by a full multidisciplinary therapy team including PT, PTA, OT, COTA, and support techs
- SLP caseload of 6–8 patients per day with 30–45 minute sessions, dependent on referrals
- Specialized equipment includes VitalStim, Bioness, PneuVest, and BITS Visual and Cognitive Program
- EMR: Meditech
- Monday through Friday schedule, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- No floating required
- On-call required only for urgent swallow or diet evaluations, which occur rarely
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of SLP experience, with active practice within the last 6 months
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
- Active Georgia SLP license required (license required if applicable)
- Proficiency in Modified Barium Swallow Studies (MBSS) required
- Dysphagia evaluation and treatment experience required
- Cognitive assessment and treatment experience required
- Stroke rehabilitation experience required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- One professional reference required (two references required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
Additional Information
- Perform bedside swallow exams, MBSS, and VitalStim therapy
- Conduct cognitive assessments and deliver evidence-based treatment for stroke and TBI patients
- VitalStim certification and FEES experience preferred
- TBI experience preferred
- Black scrubs required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Ideal candidates are flexible, positive, team-oriented, and capable of working independently
