JOB SUMMARY
This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional with the ability to work independently and lead cross functionally. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing transportation operations, managing costs, and ensuring compliance with customs regulations. The candidate must have strong analytical skills, excellent communication and strong computer skills.
ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handle transportation claims and pursue cost recovery agreements.
- Manage/review customs entries for all inbound imports.
- Manage customs contracts with vendors and update procedures to comply with CTPAT requirements.
- Keep the CTPAT website up to date and coordinate cross-functional meetings for annual surveys.
- Obtain transportation costs for intercompany overseas shipments.
- Follow up logistics bidding and set up an estimate logistics volume for upcoming year.
- Lead cross-functional teams to comply with CTPAT requirements.
- Support Accounts Receivables with reconciliation of missing payments by providing POD.
- Review/Approve and identify program information for AP on ALL Freight invoicing including domestic, international, outbound, and inbound.
- Provide back up support for all shipping specialist activities including supporting shipping activities when demand fluctuates/increases.
REQUIREMENTS
- In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, transportation logistics, and supply chain management including strong knowledge of CTPAT program requirements.
- Intermediate level in Microsoft Office platforms, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel. (Excel - deeper understanding of Excel's features and functionalities, and the ability to use them to manipulate and analyze data accurately).
- Trained and certified in Hazardous Material Shipping through the Bureau of Dangerous Goods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and adapting skills.
- Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well with individuals and teams to meet or exceed expectations.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in process management.
- Initiate preventative and continuous improvement actions related to product, process, and quality systems.
- 2+ years of experience in a similar position or field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle or free objects.
- The use of common hand tools and occasionally sharp tools are involved.
- The employee frequently is required to talk, hear, and communicate with other employees.
- The employee must be able to move and/or lift objects up to 50 pounds often.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to travel between manufacturing facilities as required.

HEALTH & SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Complete monthly H&S inspections
