Responsibilities

General Function:

This position is responsible for working with junior and senior level actuaries in determining the applicable financial implications associated with Small Defined Benefit and Cash Balance Plans.

Essential Duties:

  • Review Actuarial Valuations under required governmental regulations and applicable accounting standards for pension  
  • Monitor and review items related to annual compliance for qualified pension plans  
  • Review of pension plan benefits certifications  
  • Use of standard spreadsheet tools and development of non-standard spreadsheets for special projects  
  • Review annual update of valuation system software and programming for new plans 
  • Review and/or draft routine correspondence for review by senior level actuaries  
  • Respond to client inquiries and attend some meetings with senior level actuaries  
  • Assist with the development of project work plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure client satisfaction  
  • Assist team in special consulting projects as needed

Ancillary Duties:

As an integral member of the organization, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the department and the Company in achieving their goals.


Qualifications

Education/Training:

BA/BS degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or Economics. ASA/FSA/EA designation or significant progress towards credentials

Experience:

Minimum seven to ten years related work experience

Competencies: Well-developed written and oral communication skills
