Shifts: Monday-Friday (occasional Saturdays), 6:00am – 3:30pm

Successful candidates will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing as well as background checks.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety and Environmental Performance

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and WISHA safety regulations, WFP Policies, Site Rules, and other best practices with regards to employees and contractors working across the site; and,
  • Develop, implement and maintain strategies and processes to obtain ongoing and continuous improvement in operational safety.

Financial Performance

  • Provide detailed and accurate reporting information for safety, production, and performance related matters.

Leadership

  • Provide direction, guidance and support to production personnel and operators; and
  • Foster an environment of recognition and accountability with direct reports.

Operations

  • Manage and optimize mill flow during both normal and upset conditions;
  • Participate on cross functional teams designed to deliver on and improve carious performance metrics: Safety, Production, Reliability, Costs;
  • Maintain performance standards and expectations for various machine centers and operators;
  • Coordinate and lead projects as required;
  • Lead production crews in a manufacturing or industrial setting; and,
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED SKILLS

Education and Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of wood products manufacturing processes with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment;
  • A strong personal commitment to safety and the safety of others;
  • Strong understanding of OSHA and WISHA safety regulations;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint;
  • Lumber grading certification with knowledge of coastal grades and species is an asset;
  • Post-secondary education in Wood Products Processing, Forestry, Commerce, or Manufacturing is an asset;
  • Safety certifications are an asset;
  • Experience in a lead or supervisory role; and
  • Engineered wood products or Glulam manufacturing experience is an asset.

  • Excellent communication skills;
