Controls Engineer | Norton Shores, MI

Salary Range: $84,000 - $129,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Develop, program, and maintain PLC and HMI/SCADA systems for manufacturing processes.
Design, implement, and troubleshoot industrial control systems and automation solutions.
Provide technical support and resolve complex electrical and controls-related production issues.
Create and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control system documentation.
Lead the commissioning and startup of new automated equipment and production lines.
Integrate robotic systems, vision systems, and other advanced automation technologies.
Optimize existing control systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and product quality.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and industrial control systems.
Experience with HMI/SCADA system design, development, and troubleshooting.
Strong ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex automation and electrical issues.
Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet) and network architectures.
Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics, P&ID diagrams, and functional specifications.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with industrial robotics programming and integration (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
Proficiency in machine vision systems setup and programming (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
Familiarity with database integration (SQL) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
Knowledge of industrial network security best practices and protocols.
