Position Details:Lactation Consultant – RN (LDRP)

Location: Our facility - 10010 Kennerly Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63128

Status: PRN (As Needed)

Role Summary

This position entails assessing, identifying problems, and providing solutions for patient and staff education related to breastfeeding. The Lactation Consultant will design, implement, and evaluate the lactation education program, focusing on antepartum, postpartum, nursery, and outpatient clientele.

Qualifications

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required, along with specialized training or completion of a relevant internship.

  • Licensure: A current RN license or RN Temporary Permit in the State of Missouri is mandatory.

  • Experience: A minimum of 2–3 years of professional experience is necessary.

  • Certifications: Lactation education certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: An advanced degree or additional relevant coursework is preferred.

  • Licensure: Additional or multi-state licensure is preferred.

  • Experience: Previous experience in lactation support or a related specialty is preferred.

  • Certifications: Additional certifications in maternal-child health or lactation consulting are preferred.

  • Other: Strong communication skills, the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to patient-centered care are essential.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and assisting with patient lifting/turning
  • Capability to push, pull, and grip weights up to 50 lbs
