A residential-multifamily real estate development and property management group in Orlando, FL, is looking to add a Senior Property Accountant to its team.

The ideal candidate should have 3+ years of experience with full-cycle property accounting ( ideally residential/multifamily properties). Yardi, MRI, and/or RealPage, and within commuting distance to Orlando, FL. This is not a remote position but offers a hybrid work schedule.

Job Details:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team in the Engineering industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growth and success. The Senior Property Accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of multifamily, apartments, units, and mixed-use properties. This position is a critical part of our finance team and will have a significant impact on our company’s financial health.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including the preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
2. Coordinate with property managers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of property-level financial results.
3. Manage all aspects of accounting for multifamily, apartments, units, and mixed-use properties, including revenue recognition, expense allocation, and capitalization of property improvements.
4. Prepare and review budget and forecast reports, providing variance analysis and commentary to senior management.
5. Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and regulations.
6. Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audit and tax processes.
7. Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial data.
8. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in property accounting, preferably within the Engineering industry.
3. Extensive experience in year-end close processes, including the preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting for multifamily, apartments, units, and mixed-use properties.
5. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
9. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
