Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position offers an opportunity to provide essential support within K-12 educational settings, focusing on inclusion classrooms and resource/learning centers. The role involves working with students across elementary, middle, and high school levels, particularly those with severe disabilities and behavioral challenges. Assigned to high school and elementary environments, candidates will engage with students who have profound behavioral, functional, and adaptive needs.

Location: White Rock, NM
Contract Duration: August 5, 2025 May 29, 2026
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Support classroom teachers in inclusion and resource settings to promote student learning and engagement
• Assist students with severe disabilities, addressing behavioral, functional, and adaptive needs
• Collaborate with educational teams to implement individualized plans and strategies
• Help motivate students and provide one-on-one support in learning foundational skills such as letter recognition and phonics
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors during instruction
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities (e.g., CPI, Braille)

Qualifications and Experience:

• High school diploma required
• Experience working in classrooms with children who have disabilities and behavioral challenges
• Valid New Mexico drivers license
• Possession of or ability to obtain mandated Educational Assistant and/or Substitute Teacher license (candidates may begin while license is in process)
• CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse needs and fostering a positive learning environment
