Bookkeeper/Financial Secretary (Part-Time)
The Nest, A Women’s Center – Jacksonville, FL

The Nest is seeking a detailed-oriented mission-minded Bookkeeper to join our team. This part-time position plays a vital role in supporting our Christ-centered mission by ensuring financial accuracy and stewardship.

The Nest exists to walk alongside women and families in unexpected pregnancies, offering hope, resources, and support. We are a faith-based nonprofit, rooted in love, truth and grace.

Position Summary
The Bookkeeper will manage financial transactions, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. This role is part-time (21 hours week).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Record and reconcile bank, credit card, online merchant transactions
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for leadership and the Board
  • Assist with budget development and monitoring
  • Support annual audits and ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations
  • Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks Online and Waycool Donor System
  • Assist with Fundraising – Baby Bottle Blessings in Spring and Banquet in Fall
  • Assist with other Bookkeeping duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A committed Christian who aligns with the mission and values of The Nest
  • Previous bookkeeping experience required (nonprofit experience strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality

Compensation and Schedule

  • 21 hours per week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 9-4pm)
