The Foundation Director leads the strategic direction, operations, and growth of the hospital’s philanthropic foundation. The role is responsible for building strong donor relationships, overseeing fundraising initiatives, and ensuring philanthropic efforts align with the hospital’s mission, vision and values. The Foundation Director works closely with hospital leadership, Foundation Board of Directors, community partners, and donors to secure resources that enhance patient care, expand programs, and support capital projects. The Foundation Director is responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies, leading annual, major gifts, planned giving, and capital campaign initiatives, providing vision and direction for foundation programs, events, and donor engagement activities, and collaborating with the Executive Vice President of Business Development & Foundation to identify funding needs and philanthropic opportunities. The Foundation Director will ensure high-quality donor communications, recognition programs and impact reporting, as well as represent the foundation at community events, Foundation Board Meetings, and public engagements. Additionally, the Foundation Director will provide daily supervision, coaching, and performance management of the foundation team, and work with the hospital’s marketing team to develop and execute annual marketing and communications plans aligned with organizational goals. The Foundation Director will also focus on building partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, and community leaders.
Follows all policies and procedures as established by WGH for patient care and confidentiality. Follows safe practices for handling toxic substances, infection control, and fire and safety procedures. Must have working knowledge and skills necessary to provide service to customers of all ages.
