Job Description

Job DescriptionBuild, Fix, Improve: Join Techo-Bloc as an Electro-Mechanical Reliability Technician

At Techo-Bloc, we craft premium pavers and outdoor living products with modern automation and a team-first culture. In Douglassville, our maintenance pros keep the lines humming—and their fingerprints are on every stone that leaves the plant.

A day in your boots

It’s Monday at 4:30 AM. You start your shift with a quick safety check, review the morning’s production priorities, and tackle a conveyor issue that needs real troubleshooting—not just swapping parts. By mid-morning, you’re aligning a new motor and gearbox, then MIG-welding a bracket you just fabricated. After lunch, you’re deep into an electrical diagnosis using schematics and a megger, chasing down a finicky sensor. Before you wrap, you document PMs, support a Lenze VFD parameter tweak, and help a teammate with a hydraulic hose build. You finish the day knowing the plant ran better because of you.

Compensation, schedule, and location

  • Pay: $33–$40/hr base (depending on experience)
  • Shift: Monday–Thursday | 4:30 AM–4:30 PM
  • Location: Douglassville, PA (Serving Reading, Pottstown, Phoenixville, Exeter, Birdsboro, Boyertown, and surrounding areas)

How you’ll make an impact

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems: motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, chains, belts, pulleys, rollers, and more.
  • Diagnose and service hydraulics—cylinders, valves, solenoids, pumps—and build hoses as needed.
  • Perform stick and MIG welding and on-the-fly fabrication in multiple positions.
  • Resolve electrical issues using schematics, wiring diagrams, a multimeter, and a megger.
  • Install, level, and align new equipment using hoists, jacks, and precision tools.
  • Support and troubleshoot VFDs (SEW, Siemens, Lenze, Allen-Bradley).
  • Test equipment, identify parts, complete repairs, and document preventive maintenance.
  • Work safely at heights and operate forklifts, cranes, and scissor lifts; maintain a clean work area.

Tools and tech you’ll work with

  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC): Allen-Bradley, Siemens
  • HMI, SCADA, programmable sensors, oscilloscopes

What you bring

  • 2+ years in Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field.
  • Hands-on skill with power tools, measuring devices, and lathe and/or milling machines.
  • Experience with bearing heaters, interference fits, and removing gearboxes or seized bearings/shafts.
  • Proficiency in stick and MIG welding, plus the ability to fabricate and make structural repairs.
  • Strong electrical aptitude; able to read and interpret schematics and diagrams.
  • Comfort with 480 VAC, 120 VAC, 24 VDC, and 4–20 mA systems.
  • Ability to use a multimeter, megger, and related test equipment.
  • Maintain, install, and troubleshoot VFDs, programmable sensors, SCADA, HMI, and PLCs.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity in wiring, equipment, and fixtures with ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Collaborative, team-first mindset.

Preferred
