Location: Syracuse, NY 13210

Assignment Details

• Duration: 13 weeks

• Shift: Day Shift

• Schedule:

  • 1 shift per week

  • 12.5 hours per shift

  • Time: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

• Weekends/Holidays: Every other weekend and some holidays required

Job Summary

A healthcare facility is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a Pediatric Bio-Behavioral Unit. This role involves providing compassionate, safe, and structured nursing care to pediatric patients with behavioral and psychiatric needs. The ideal candidate will have prior psychiatric experience and a strong interest in pediatric behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in a bio-behavioral/psychiatric setting

• Monitor patient behavior, safety, and emotional well-being

• Assist with activities of daily living and therapeutic interventions

• Administer medications and document care in accordance with policies and standards

• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary care teams

• Support a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment

• Comply with facility protocols, patient safety standards, and documentation requirements

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (State of New York or eligible)

• Psychiatric experience required

• Pediatric experience preferred

• Strong communication, observation, and teamwork skills

• Ability to work assigned weekends and holidays
