Beta is a Title I Schoolwide campus. I understand that all or part of this job could be funded with federal funds. I also understand that the base salary includes a $10,000 stipend which is to cover all Parent and Family Engagement activities.

This may include planning and teaching after-school tutorials, pulling small groups, covering classes, or coordinating Saturday school. We move the academic dial together with urgency and excellence.

The mission of the Beta Academy Assistant Principal is to lead their team to establish a world-class school through a culture of joyful rigor and develop scholars and leaders who can contribute on a community, national, and international level.

1. Meet Academic Goals

Rated Campus

  • A Rating by TEA
  • Score an 80% or higher on each State Category connected to Texas Education Agency (TEA) school rating. scholar Achievement, Closing Achievement Gaps, and School Progress.

Non Rated Campus

  • 60% of scholars achieve Meets or above on benchmarks and state tests
  • 25% of scholars achieve Masters on benchmarks and state tests

2. Meet School Culture Goals

  • 100% of PK-3 teachers award a minimum of 1 Sunshine Note a month per scholar
  • 100% of 2-5 teachers score a minimum of Proficient on the Teacher Observation Rubric section 2.1 for joyful teaching and awarding Beta Bucks
  • 100% of MS teachers award a minimum 15 entries of tribe points a day
  • HS teachers award a minimum of 30 Ba Patches a year
  • 90% “meets standard” or higher on the school culture survey and staff feedback surveys.

3. Meet Attendance Goal

  • 98% Average Daily Attendance

4. Meet Enrollment Goal

100% of grade levels meet enrollment by the 10th day of school

  • K-12 minimum of 25 scholars per class
  • PK minimum of 20 scholars per class

90% Scholar Persistence (measured on 10th day of school)

5. Meet Customer Service Goals

  • 2 cards minimum sent per week to families
  • 1 “5 Star” Google Review earn a minimum per month
  • 4.9 average annually on the guest experience survey
  • 5 customer surveys collected weekly
  • 100% of guest concerns are successfully resolved and receive a follow up call.
  • 100% of the time, Rainbow Service Guidelines are implemented

6. Meet Organizational Goals

  • 100% of all guest action requests are entered in the Call/Visit Log

  • 20 Guest Experience Survey calls per month

7. Communication Goals

  • Assist the Principal with leading and hosting at least 1 Parent Information Meeting a month
  • Return calls/messages for you within 72 hours
  • Make weekly calls to parents

Job Prerequisites for Assistant Principals

  • At least five years of classroom teaching experience is required. More than five years of teaching experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience leading a campus is preferred.

Employment Terms

12 month / salary- 70,000 / 100% on site

Job Responsibilities

1. Mission, Vision, and Core Value

  • Ensures vision and mission drive school decisions
  • Ensures a professional and college preparatory climate across the campus

  • Implements Beta rituals, routines, celebrations and dances that ensure a culture of joy and academic success

2. Assists Principal in Leading and Managing Systems and Operations

  • Conducts regular school culture walkthroughs to help staff maintain a high bar of excellence
  • Implements and monitors outcomes of school improvement plan and scholar achievement data to improve scholar learning
  • Supervises school entry, breakfast, lunch, dismissal, and transitions to ensure they are orderly and positive
  • Maintains a safe, clean, orderly and joyful learning environment
  • Collaborates with staff to achieve school improvement plan targets
  • Utilizes current technologies to support leadership and management functions
  • Aligns resources to improve teaching and learning
  • Ensures that proper equipment, furniture, and fixtures are provided to support scholar learning and teacher effectiveness
  • Recognizes problems and impediments and assists with constructive resolutions
  • Acts as the campus custodian of records for student, scholastic, business, financial, personnel, securities, titles, certifications, etc.
  • Adheres to the requirements of ESSA
  • Monitors attendance, grades/report cards, and scheduling

3. Assists Principal with Scholar Enrollment

  • Monitors enrollment at school site and works with the school registrar, secretaries, teachers, and staff to meet enrollment targets
  • Schedules and hosts parent interest meetings (weekly until enrollment goal is met)
  • Ensures enrollment and capacity expectations are met
  • Ensures campus maintains > 97% daily attendance

4. Assists Principal Improving Teaching and Learning

  • Ensures an A campus rating from TEA
  • Works with and engages staff in shared vision for effective teaching by learning and implementing Beta instructional methods and curriculum.
  • Holds high expectations for scholar learning
  • Ensures every scholar has an excellent teacher committed to their success
  • Sets clear, consistent standards for academic achievement and establishes a school-wide focus on preparing all students for college
  • Implements curriculum scope and sequence
  • Uses disaggregated data to coach teachers
  • Selects and retains teachers that maximize scholars’ learning
  • Ensures high standards of educational achievement for staff and scholars
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of teaching and holds teachers accountable for meeting their goals

  • Understands and ensures strict adherence to TEA’s Student Attendance Accountability Handbook (SAAH) and Beta’s Student Attendance Procedure Manual.
  • Establishes and maintains professional and cooperative working relationships with all stakeholders: parents, scholars, staff, neighbors, and partners
  • Promotes and maintains a positive and effective school climate by ensuring that all interactions with staff, scholars, parents, and the public at large are prompt, efficient, helpful and friendly
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal

Reports To

The Assistant Principal reports to the Principal.

Supervision

The Principal will directly supervise all campus staff not reporting to district leaders.
