Job DescriptionPOSITION PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Boilermaker/Pipefitter is responsible for the layout, installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems, pressure vessels, tanks, and boilers throughout the facility. This role ensures that high-pressure systems and associated equipment operate safely and efficiently, supporting plant production and maintenance objectives.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
· Collaborates with the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Engineers to complete mechanical work related to piping and pressure systems.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs piping systems, steam systems, boilers, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and associated equipment.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and piping specifications to determine work requirements and installation procedures.
- Fabricates and assembles pipes and pipe sections by cutting, threading, welding, or bolting to required specifications.
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications using measuring tools and levels.
- Conducts hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure testing on installed piping and vessels to verify system integrity.
- Installs and aligns valves, pumps, steam traps, flanges, and related fittings with precision.
- Performs preventative maintenance and inspections on steam systems and pressure vessels, identifying wear and potential failures.
- Works with other trades (e.g., electricians, millwrights) to ensure safe and efficient completion of cross-functional tasks.
- Follows all plant safety procedures and protocols, including hot work permits and confined space entry procedures.
- Reports safety incidents, equipment issues, and work delays to the Maintenance Supervisor in a timely manner.
- Attends departmental safety meetings and participates actively in safety and environmental compliance initiatives.
- Complies with all Lion Elastomers’ plant policies, procedures, and Maintenance Department standards.
- Participates in regulatory and company training programs to maintain certifications and improve operational knowledge.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School Diploma, Some College, Technical School or NCCER (or equivalent) certification a Plus.
Related Experience: 3 Years Minimum in an industrial environment with related on-the-job experience in a related discipline, Prior experience must include being knowledgeable in process manufacturing, plant safety rules & regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM), environmental compliance standards, and site quality processes.

The incumbent must possess a high level of mechanical aptitude, be an effective communicator, possess basic computer competencies, and be capable & willing to work overtime and holidays, as may be required. The individual must have the ability to work in confined spaces and from elevated areas within the plant. In addition, this individual must be able to think clearly and solve multifaceted problems in the field with personnel of various degrees of skill levels, education and training.
