Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available in the Derry, NH area, supporting students in Life Skills classrooms. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by working with middle and high school students with special education needs.
Location: Kingston, NH
Employment Type: Full-time Contract
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students in Life Skills classrooms serving grades 6-8 or 9-12.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive learning environment.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary.
- Maintain positive communication with families and participate in IEP meetings.
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students in Life Skills or similar settings.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment.
