WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Driver - Class B maintains Elica Health Centers (EHC) mobile medicine unit, part of Elica’s Health on Wheels (H.O.W.) program. The Driver - Class B will ensure safety when operating the unit and assist personnel (providers and Medical Assistant staff) with clerical duties during scheduled clinic sessions. In addition, ensures cleanliness before and/or after each scheduled event for the Health on Wheels program.

Compensation Dependant Upon Experience -
$20.00 - $26.00 an hour
Requirements:
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
The successful candidate will be willing and able to:
- Drive and maintain the mobile medical unit on an as needed basis
- Calendar to be available at least one week in advance
- Inspect the mobile medical unit prior to each event to ensure that it is in excellent running condition
- Park and level the medical mobile unit upon arrival at the event destination
- Fuel up the medical mobile unit as needed before each event
- Inventory and order water to replenish on-board water supply, including water for the restroom
- Provide assistance with the registration process, greet patients, distribute brochures, etc.
- To be cross-trained to assist patients/clients with explaining and completing registration/intake forms and provide guidance to the same as needed
- Assist provider(s) and MA(S) as needed including disinfecting exam rooms between uses
- To ensure cleanliness perform the following duties before and/or after each event:
- Clean and disinfect all surfaces in rooms including all countertops
- Empty all trash cans and reline with new trash bags
- Set up and maintain the wireless and wired connections for computers, printer, scanner, and copier
- Unlock and lock medical supplies as needed per event
- Unpack and set up all required medical equipment per event; secure (lock) equipment at conclusion of each event
- Inventory and replenish HOW supplies using the checklist before and/or after each event, such as paper towels, tissues, etc.
The successful candidate has:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Health care experience is preferred, not required
- Knowledge of modern office equipment
- Abide by Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) in reference to all confidential information obtained through job tasks
- Possession of a valid State of California Class B Driver’s license with a minimum of 2 years Class B driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Current CPR certification required
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.
- If selected for an employment opportunity with Elica Health Centers, external hires must provide proof of immunizations (Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella & Tetanus), tuberculosis clearance, and proof of COVID-19 vaccination status* prior to their scheduled start date. Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
The work environment is characteristic of the healthcare facility environment. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to handle or lift. The employee is also required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must also possess hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the phone. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderately loud; the incumbent must be able to focus in an environment with many distractions.
