Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to paediatric medical and surgical patients, performing assessments, administering medications, and implementing individualized care plans.
- Monitor for post-operative complications and changes in medical status; communicate concerns promptly to the attending physician.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, wound care, and discharge instructions in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team including physicians, therapists, case management, and child-life specialists to support holistic paediatric care.
Requirements
- Active, unencumbered CA RN licence.
- Minimum 1 year recent paediatric med/surg or acute care experience required.
- Current BLS/CPR; PALS preferred.
- Comfortable working with paediatric patients and families in a children's hospital environment.
