Exceptional opportunity for experienced ICU Registered Nurses specializing in Medical Intensive Care to contribute to a Level III Trauma Center environment. This contract role offers the chance to manage complex adult patient cases including respiratory failure, sepsis, cardiac arrest, and more, within a well-equipped 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two years continuous MICU experience and possess strong telemetry reading skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care for critically ill adults in a 20-bed MICU.
- Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4-5 patients with telemetry competency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including attending physicians and residents available 24/7.
- Manage patient care ratios typically at 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity cases; 1:4 or 1:5 while floating.
- Document patient care efficiently using the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts RN license.
- Minimum of 2 years continuous adult ICU experience, preferably MICU.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Ability to interpret telemetry strips confidently.
- Flexibility to work rotating day shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a) or fixed night shifts.
- Willingness and ability to float to medical/surgical units.
Schedule/Hours:
- Night shifts available with every other weekend rotations (36 or 48 hours).
- Day shifts rotate with varied hours; night shifts do not rotate.
