Job Purpose
Provide logistical planning and support to manage simulation equipment, property accountability, and program activities efficiently. Ensure smooth operations by managing resources, tracking inventory, and supporting program events.
Position Overview:
Coordinate logistics for simulation training sites, ensuring proper resource allocation, inventory tracking, and equipment lifecycle management to support training operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
The job duties and responsibilities of the Logistics Oversight position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain detailed property accountability records and manage equipment lifecycle tracking to ensure proper functioning and availability of all necessary assets.
Conduct cost-benefit and lifecycle cost analyses for simulation resources, providing recommendations for resource optimization.
Coordinate travel and logistical support for program events, ensuring all resources are available and operational when needed.
Develop logistical strategies to address identified resource shortfalls and optimize operational efficiency across simulation sites.
Oversee the procurement, storage, and distribution of simulation resources, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Maintain regular reports on inventory levels, equipment status, and logistical needs.
Provide guidance and training to simulation site personnel on proper logistics procedures and resource management.
Work across multiple simulation sites, both CONUS and OCONUS, as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Educational and Professional Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Relevant certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CLTD) a plus.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in logistics management supporting Government or DoD contracts.
Professional Qualifications:
Experience with Inventory Management Systems: Familiarity with logistics and inventory management software for tracking and reporting.
Proficient in inventory management systems and logistical planning software.
Knowledge of DoD property accountability standards, regulations, and reporting systems.
Ability to provide logistical training and guidance to simulation site personnel, ensuring effective and compliant logistics operations.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
Ability to identify issues and propose innovative solutions to logistical challenges.
Communication Skills: Clear communication abilities to coordinate with various teams and ensure smooth logistical operations.
