Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the current school year at an elementary school in Storrs Mansfield, CT. The role requires an on-site commitment with a caseload focused on elementary students. This contract opportunity is ideal for individuals holding the applicable Connecticut Special Education Teaching License.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of elementary students with disabilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to optimize student outcomes
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state and district policies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Connecticut Special Education Teaching License
- Proven experience working with elementary students in special education settings
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work onsite full-time during the school year
