Transportation Operations & Safety Intern
The Transportation Operations & Safety Intern supports the Transportation Department by assisting transportation managers and the leadership team with daily operations, safety initiatives, and compliance activities. This paid, hands-on internship provides real-world experience in transportation safety, DOT and INDOT compliance, route operations, and fleet management while serving communities across Southeast Indiana. This position requires the ability to safely operate New Horizons vehicles while adhering to all DOT, INDOT, and agency transportation policies.
Job Qualifications
- Twenty-One (21) Years of Age or older
- Valid Driver’s License AND acceptable driving record with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Complete required training including First Aid/CPR certification
Additional Information
- Drug Test required
- Background report and driving record required
- TB test required
- Physical ability to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, push, pull, and lift
