Position Details
Job Title: Social Worker (Allied) – Medical Social Worker
Location: Beverly, MA 01915
Assignment Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: July 14, 2025
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
Shift Schedule:
- Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Days with weekend rotation as needed
Weekend Requirements: Yes – as needed
On-Call: None
Local or Travel Candidates: Travel only – Local candidates (within 50 miles) not accepted
Pay Details
Rate: Travelers $28/hour on W2 and $1500/40 hours (Per Diem) = Gross weekly $2620
Job Description
As a full-time Medical Social Worker, you will be a vital part of the care coordination team. You’ll collaborate closely with RN case managers, physicians, internal departments, and external agencies to support patients across adult, geriatric, pediatric, and med/surg populations. This role requires strong crisis intervention, psychosocial assessment, and discharge planning skills in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Duties Include:
- Perform psychosocial assessments and provide supportive counseling
- Coordinate discharge planning and post-discharge services
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RN case managers and physicians
- Triage crises and communicate with collateral agencies
- Work across multiple hospital settings (floating between Beverly & Addison Gilbert as needed)
Requirements
Licensure/Certifications:
- Active Massachusetts Social Work License – LCSW or LICSW (must be in hand at submission)
- COVID-19 vaccine and booster – Required (no declinations accepted)
- BILH Cover Sheet – Required at submission
Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) – Required
- Minimum one year of experience in hospital or high-urgency setting – Required
- Background in crisis intervention, long-term care, hospice, substance use, psychiatric illness, or protective services – Preferred
