Position Overview:
Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg 5E
Location: Our Hospital South - 10010 Kennerly Rd, St. Louis, Missouri 63128
Shift: PRN (As Needed)
Job Summary
This role involves utilizing the nursing process to deliver patient care effectively. You will maintain professional accountability for the care provided to your assigned patients and assess the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other caregivers. Collaboration with various departments to coordinate patient care is essential. Upholding patient rights and ensuring the confidentiality of patient information are critical responsibilities. All duties must align with our mission, values, and service standards.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited nursing program with one of the following:
- Associate Degree in Nursing
- Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Licensure: A current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri is required, or possession of compact licensure in accordance with state nursing board regulations.
Experience: Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred and may be necessary based on the unit's requirements.
Certifications:
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: A BSN is preferred.
- Licensure: Additional state licenses or specialty certifications are advantageous.
- Experience: Prior experience in a specialty area or similar clinical environment is preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Capability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking during shifts.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as necessary to fulfill nursing responsibilities.
