Job Description\n
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU float position with EPIC experience and advanced cardiac care skills in Washington state.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Hospital-based float position covering ICU, PCU, and ED overflow units
- Majority of time spent with PCU-level patients, including ED overflow assignments
- Typical patient populations include respiratory failure, ESRD, AKI, COPD, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, post-op, stroke, ETOH, and overdose
- No craniotomy, major trauma, or major cardiothoracic case assignments
- 16-bed ICU unit
- Uses EPIC for charting, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis for medication dispensing
- 12-hour day shifts with an every other weekend rotation
- Floating may include coverage at multiple facilities
- May act as lead nurse for ED holding unit
- Scrubs may be any color except camouflage; navy blue is preferred
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Weekend rotation is every other weekend
\n \n Requirements\n
- Active WA or compact RN license required
- Minimum two years of recent ICU nursing experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferred
- Proficient with cardiac rhythm interpretation, telemetry monitoring, ventilator and trach care, bipap management, invasive line management, ostomies, chest tubes, and IV medication titration
- Experience with EPIC charting required
