Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Recruiter to join our team and support the hiring of qualified commercial drivers and transportation staff. The Recruiter will play a key role in sourcing, screening, and onboarding candidates to ensure we maintain a reliable and safety-focused workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Source and attract qualified CDL drivers and transportation personnel through job boards, social media, referrals, and industry networks
- Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and evaluate candidate qualifications and fit
- Verify credentials, including CDL licenses, driving records, and compliance with DOT regulations
- Coordinate and manage the full recruitment cycle, from initial contact through onboarding
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future hiring needs
- Collaborate with operations and safety teams to understand staffing requirements
- Ensure all hiring practices comply with federal, state, and company regulations
- Maintain accurate candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS)
- Assist with onboarding, orientation scheduling, and new hire documentation
Qualifications:
- Previous recruiting experience in transportation, logistics, or trucking - required
- Knowledge of CDL requirements and DOT regulations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple candidates and job openings simultaneously
- Proficiency with recruiting tools, job boards, and ATS platforms
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience recruiting over-the-road (OTR), Reefer, and Dry Van
- Familiarity with driver retention strategies and industry challenges
- Bilingual skills (a plus, depending on workforce needs)
