Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Providing specialized nursing care to intermediate-level patients with cardiac and neurological conditions, this position supports a 36-bed Progressive Care Unit focused on stroke, heart failure, and other critical diagnoses. The role involves continuous monitoring, timely interventions, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team in a well-equipped setting.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care for intermediate patients, including stroke and cardiac cases, with an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4.
- Monitor telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms, managing hemodynamic drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, Neo, Nitro, and Amio.
- Detect and escalate neurological changes promptly, utilizing NIHSS certification skills.
- Collaborate with support staff including CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain meticulous documentation using EMR systems (Encompass/EPIC).
- Use specialized equipment such as Philips MX-40 monitors, Baxter IV pumps, wound vacs, and specialty beds as required.
- Adhere to unit policies and participate in department orientation and ongoing training.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensed to practice.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in progressive care or stepdown nursing; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Proficiency in managing telemetry patients and titrating critical drips.
- Strong assessment skills and ability to respond effectively to changes in patient condition.
