A healthcare facility is seeking an Interim Pharmacist in Charge to oversee inpatient pharmaceutical services in a behavioral health setting. This contract role is approximately four weeks long, providing crucial leadership support until a permanent hire is made. The position offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., including a 30-minute unpaid meal break.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing pharmacy operations in an inpatient behavioral health environment
- Supervising medication dispensing and repackaging processes
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards
- Utilizing automated dispensing machines and managing restock activities
- Collaborating with clinical teams to optimize patient medication therapy
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current Missouri Pharmacist License required
- Experience as a Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) strongly preferred
- Familiarity with Omnicell automated dispensing systems is a plus
- Skilled in repackaging medications using systems such as Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL
- Ability to load drugs into automated machines and generate restock reports
- Prior experience in hospital inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services is advantageous
