CERTIFIED PHLEBOTOMIST - FULL-TIME - JOHNS CREEK, GA 30097
Established, award-winning IOP currently has an open position for a reliable, confident Certified Phlebotomy Tech (CPT) of at least 2 to 3 years' experience to join as a permanent part of our team in Johns Creek, GA 30097, within 1 to 2 weeks - Starts with immediate benefits (full list of Benefits & Perks below)
Pay: $19.29/hr - $20.00/hr | Based on experience
- Plus: Quarterly Bonus
- Mileage reimbursement for training
SHIFT: Mon to Fri, 8a - 5p | Full-time, 40 hours/wk guaranteed
REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION & LICENSURE
- MINIMUM 2 to 3 year's Phlebotomy experience required (CURRENT)
- Certified Phlebotomy Tech - CPT Certification
- Comfortable handling 30 to 60 sticks per day
- High School Diploma or GED
Job Summary:
- Greets patients appropriately, confirms identification of orders
- Ensures all phlebotomy specimens are collected accurately and on time
- Collects specimens according to established procedures, properly explains process of the venipuncture
- Reduces patient anxiety by providing a calm environment before, during and after the process.
- Disposes of blood or other biohazard fluids or tissue in accordance with applicable laws, standards, or policies
- Completes requisitions accurately, maintaining patient comfort
- Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information into LIS. Attention to detail to maintain high level of accuracy. Confirms handwritten orders, verify test ordered, obtain accurate billing information, i.e. diagnosis codes, UPIN information, etc.
- Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
- Label, centrifuge, split, freeze specimens, package for transport & store sample appropriately
- Demonstrates proper collection methods, proper processing of all specimens.
- Maintains daily records and all appropriate Phlebotomy logs.
- Perform roles with security practices & regulatory guidelines to protect the confidentiality, integrity, & availability of protected health information.
