• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures as needed for accurate coding.
• Stay updated on changes in medical terminology, coding guidelines, and billing practices to ensure compliance.
• Assist in resolving any discrepancies or issues related to billing or coding with insurance companies or patients.

Skills

• Proficiency in ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10) and CPT coding is essential.
• Strong understanding of medical billing processes, including collections and claims management.
• Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, showcasing familiarity with medical terminology and records management.
• Experience with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable for efficient data handling.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
