1st Shift Mechanical Assembler (Electromechanical – Medical Devices) $25-30/hr
Job Summary
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing medical device assemblies in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role requires a strong mix of mechanical and electrical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, wire, program, test, and package electromechanical assemblies and sub‑assemblies with minimal supervision
- Perform functional testing of systems, components, and subassemblies to ensure compliance with QA standards
- Troubleshoot issues, analyze test failures, identify root causes, and perform repairs as needed
- Document discrepancies and quality defects accurately within production and quality records
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, technicians, and production staff to resolve issues
- Perform soldering tasks including wire/terminal soldering, through‑hole components, and limited SMT work
- Participate in cross‑training and develop subject matter expertise across multiple production areas
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a strong safety‑first mindset
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical assembly, electromechanical assembly, or technician roles (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, assembly drawings, and bills of materials
- Experience using electronic test equipment and hand tools
- Proficiency with wiring electrical control and power systems on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic assemblies
- Strong soldering skills (IPC / J‑STD certification a plus)
- Computer proficiency including MS Office and basic PC skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy

- Maintenance technician experience
- Medical device or regulated manufacturing experience (highly preferred)
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Chanhassen, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
