Registered Nurse NICU (Full-Time) | Fort Wainwright, AK | Contract

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced NICU Registered Nurse to provide specialized care in a dynamic hospital environment located in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This role offers a full-time contract position with a structured schedule of three 12-hour shifts per week and a requirement for 5 weekend shifts over a 6-week rotation. Voluntary on-call duties and occasional floating to units across the hospital are part of the role. The position is open immediately for qualified candidates.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments addressing physical, psychological, social, spiritual, developmental, and educational needs of neonatal patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care and discharge plans.
  • Monitor diagnostic and laboratory results, promptly communicating abnormalities to physicians and relevant caregivers.
  • Perform ongoing patient reassessments in line with clinical policies to adjust care as required.
  • Ensure culturally competent care that respects patient age, spirituality, and psychosocial factors.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active RN licensure with at least 1 year of professional nursing experience.
  • Proven skills in neonatal intensive care nursing.
  • Ability to work flexibly across multiple units if needed.
  • Strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
