Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A K-12 school in Chicago, IL is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide specialized support to students throughout the school year in a contract position. This role focuses on enhancing students developmental, sensory, and motor skills, supporting their ability to participate fully in academic and daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to student needs
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities
- Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and other education professionals to integrate therapy goals within the classroom
- Track progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed, documenting all activities and outes
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) development
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license
- Experience working with children in K-12 educational settings
- Strong knowledge of pediatric therapy strategies and educational laws related to special education
- Excellent munication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage caseload and prioritize responsibilities effectively
