NuWest Travel Nursing is seeking a travel RDN - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist for a travel job in Billings, Montana.

We have a new assignment for Allied - Dietician in Billings, MT and are interviewing ASAP. This is a travel assignment, 5x8s, days position at a great facility.

Pay Range: $1771.79 - $2084.46 Per Week

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with underserved population

• One year of Public Health or Maternal Child Health experience.

***Looking specifically for someone with a lot of WIC focused experience

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• Valid Montana State Driver’s License

• Current Registered Dietician license

• Emergency preparedness on the job training at a minimum of ICS 100, 200, and 700

Essential Functions/Major Duties and Responsibilities: \n\nA. Registered Dietitian Services\n\n• Provide nutrition education, planning, and consultation services for patients/clients and groups.\n\n• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling within individuals’ socioeconomic framework. \n\n• Develop and maintain trusting relationships with clients and RiverStone Health staff.\n\n• Evaluate laboratory tests in preparing nutrition recommendations.\n\n• Guide clients and patients of the importance of physical activity and the role it plays in the overall success of a clients total health and wellness.\n\n• Keep accurate and timely documentation records for clients. \n\n• Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life. Provide applicable resources with a confirmed understanding of the information. \n\n• Advise and/or provide case management to clients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. Provide applicable resources with a confirmed understanding of the information. \n\n• Incorporate client cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences and needs in the development of nutrition plans.\n\n• Determine resource needs and eligibility requirements to make referrals to providers, programs, services and other community resources. \n\n• Serve as a client advocate or liaison to other agencies and community organizations. \n\n• Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restriction of client.\n\n• Record and evaluate client and family health and food history, including symptoms, environmental toxic exposure, allergies, medication factors, and preventive health-care measures.\n\n• Attend meetings, conferences, workshops and training sessions, and review publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on principles, practices and new developments in nutrition.\n\n• Keep immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.\n\n\n\nB. WIC Registered Dietitian\n\n• Determines WIC eligibility for program, provides education on WIC core topics, determines food prescriptions, and issues benefits with appropriate and timely documentation.\n\n• Refers participants to RiverStone Health and community resources as needed\n\n• Provides nutrition services to high risk WIC participants that includes assessment, education, and monitoring. \n\n• Coordinates with other health care providers as needed\n\n• Obtains weight, length, and hemoglobins as prescribed by program\n\n• Keeps updated on nutrition for pediatric populations through continuing education\n\n• Presents in-services on nutrition topics to WIC staff, community groups, and other RiverStone Health staff as needed\n\n• Assists in development and implementation of WIC outreach, nutrition education, and breastfeeding education plans. \n\n• Provides breastfeeding support to mothers and infants\n\n• Company cell phone will be provided for client communication purposes.
