Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility, located in Webster, TX 77598. This is a 3+ months contract assignment (conversion into permanent based on your work performance). and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Specific Duties:

  • Reviewed doctor’s schedules, abstracted charts as needed, and prepared PVS and other relevant documentation for daily patient visits.
  • Prepared and submitted patient documents for scanning while ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Monitored assigned in-baskets, managed overdue results and letters, and completed required follow-ups.
  • Scheduled appointments, assisted patients with specialty referrals and radiology testing, and coordinated communication with providers.
  • Provided pre-printed patient educational materials as directed by the provider.
  • Ensured proper disposal of confidential patient information daily and strictly followed HIPAA policies.
  • Monitored physician orders in the in-basket and completed corresponding tasks promptly.
  • Documented observations related to patient health status and promptly reported findings to the provider.
  • Roomed patients efficiently upon arrival; obtained demographics, history, and chief complaint.
  • Verified patient allergies and recorded vital signs according to policy.
  • Reconciled medication lists with patients at each visit and updated preferred pharmacies.
  • Documented patient education, including learning preferences, language needs, interpreter services, and comprehension.
  • Completed patient questionnaires when applicable (lead, TB, flu, new patient intake, etc.).
  • Prepared patients and exam rooms for physician visits and assisted during minor office procedures.
  • Assisted patients with activities of daily living such as ostomy care and diaper changes.
  • Transported patients within the facility as needed and performed CPR during emergencies.
  • Monitored supplies, medications, and forms; reported reorder needs to the appropriate staff.
  • Tagged and reported broken or malfunctioning equipment to the coordinator or supervisor.
  • Cleaned and restocked exam rooms daily and documented completion on logs.
  • Checked supplies for expiration dates and maintained inventory to par levels.
  • Attended staff meetings and participated in departmental improvement initiatives (PDSA).
  • Completed daily logs, including waived testing (glucometer, urine dipstick, pregnancy tests), CLIA, refrigerator and room temperature, and eye wash station checks.
  • Ensured accurate, legal, and ethical documentation in all records.
  • Practiced OSHA safety standards, including proper disposal of biohazard waste.
  • Maintained a clean, organized, professional work environment with minimal personal items.
  • Consulted the resource RN when needed and sought clarification regarding medication administration from licensed staff.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of preferred experience
  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • BLS Certification
  • Experience with Epic EMR

  • Job Type: 3+ months contract assignment (conversion into permanent based on your work performance).
  • Schedule: Mon – Fri, 08:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Pay Range: $18- $23
