Pay: $18.00 - $19.00/hour

Work Schedule: Part-time, 5-20 hours per week. Schedule will be determined collaboratively between the selected candidate and the hiring manager based on availability and business needs.

Job Description:

The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day operational support to a small legal team by assisting with clerical, billing, and office administration tasks. This position is best suited for someone who is proactive, tech-savvy, and able to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
  • Complete occasional local office-related errands as needed.
  • Review invoices and billing information for accuracy.
  • Enter and maintain billing data using Microsoft Excel.
  • Organize electronic and physical files to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
  • Assist attorneys and office staff with a variety of administrative projects.
  • Maintain an organized office environment and complete assigned tasks independently.
  • Provide additional administrative support as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of administrative support experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including working with spreadsheets, lists, and basic data organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Previous experience supporting billing or invoicing processes is preferred.
  • Legal industry experience is a plus but is not required.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with limited direction.
  • Proven track record of reliability and strong performance in previous assignments is preferred.

Additional Details:

  • Immediate opening with an anticipated start date as soon as possible.
  • Part-time opportunity with hours varying between approximately 5-20 hours per week based on workload.
  • Fully onsite position in Washington, DC.
  • Interview process consists of one virtual interview.
