Job Title: Cable Production Inspector – Test Technician

The Cable Area Production Inspector is a critical role in ensuring quality across all phases of cable manufacturing. This position ensures that products meet all established standards by performing thorough inspections, collaborating with production teams, and developing inspection criteria.We are looking for people who believe in our guiding principles and values of:

In this role you will get to:

  • Verify all extrusion parameters prior to the initiation of jobs.
  • Inspect extruded cable for correct AWG, color, indentation wheel print, compound, and defects in the jacket.
  • Ensure UL labels on extruded spools are accurate, present, and properly applied.
  • Review shop orders (SO) to confirm adherence to specifications.
  • Verify print parameters prior to the initiation of jobs and inspect cable printing for accuracy, clarity, and quality.
  • Check spool length, wrap quality, and packaging compliance.
  • Inspect cable assemblies for correct components and confirm all fastening devices are tightened and torqued properly.
  • Perform end-of-line (EOL) testing in accordance with work instructions (WI).
  • Inspect and ensure the quality of cable packaging meets company standards.
  • Conduct regular fixture inspections to ensure proper working conditions.
  • Collaborate with the quality team to develop, refine, and update inspection criteria to enhance quality control processes.
  • Record inspection results and report any issues or defects to production and quality teams.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2 years of experience in quality control or manufacturing inspection.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including extrusion, assembly, and cable production.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in identifying defects or inconsistencies.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds intermittently.
  • Ability to read and write in English and comprehend plant directives and work instructions.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills, including accurate data entry experience for documenting inspections and entering production information.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematics to interpret work instructions, process sheets, and maintain accurate material records, including scrap amounts.
  • Experience developing or improving inspection criteria is a plus.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Adherence to PPE requirements, including but not limited to eye, hand, feet, and hearing protection.
